Mohonk Mountain House
Located in the north of the town of New Paltz, New York, along the Shawangunk mountain ridge, Mohonk is a site featuring a hotel, museum, hiking trails, skating rink, and more. Built by the Smiley brothers starting in 1869 it’s a truly wonderful place to visit.
On this trip in October we intended to catch the fall foliage but the mild and wet late summer and fall made for a late start of the “show”.
Temperatures were in the 20s and windy when we headed up the trail to the Tower for the sunrise.
